|22/11/2017-7:00p||:30pm - VCC Club Nights @ Gravity Worx (November)|
Location: Gravity Worx Indoor Climbing Gym
Leader: Mark Rippingale
Details: The VCC are holding regular Club Nights at Gravity Worx Indoor Climbing Gym. Initially these will be held fortnightly on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. For NOV, the nights will be Wed 8th and 22nd November.
These Club Nights will be relaxed and informal. The idea is that you can come along without a climbing partner and join in with other VCC members. It gives you the opportunity to meet other VCC members and find regular climbing partners. Or you could climb without a partner using one of the 16 auto-belays available. Perfect for those wanting to do some endurance training. Continuous climbing on these tall walls will certainly do the trick.
Mark Rippingale will be the official 'Trip Leader' on these Wednesday Nights. So find Mark when you arrive and have signed in. There is no need to contact Mark prior to these nights - just turn up ready to climb.
For these VCC Nights, the cost of entry for VCC members is $15, plus gear if needed. This is a heavily discounted entry for VCC members.
Beginners are most welcome.

|EOM @ Araps/Djurite (November) & Cliffcare Working Bee|
Location: Mount Arapiles/Djurite
Leader: Paula Toal
Details: Warmer weather, wild flowers and still good friction what better reason is there to visitMt Arapilesin late Spring? Well, the opportunity to help for an hour or two on the second Cliffcare Central Gully Working Bee is another good reason.
Come along andcruise upthe nearby classicsand well-worn trade routes in the Organ Pipes in the sun. Or climb something new? Or head up into Central Gully right-hand side for some all day shade.
We will be camping in The Pines, close to the action. There is no better rock to fondle than the hard quartzite of Arapiles, so contact your Trip Leaders, Paula and Steve Toal,to register your interest.
The Cliffcare Working Bee will involve helping on the redevelopment of the Central Gully Walking Track on Saturday morning. Spare an hour or two to move a few rocks down the track so that our Stonemason Walter can continue his work. No uphill trudge required. Meet at the top of Central Gully at 9:30am. Wear closed toe shoes.
This trip is suitable for all abilities, however there will be limited spaces for beginners.
Please send through some details about your experience and climbing gear and hopefully we'll see you there.

|Bundaleer - Grampians|
Leader: Hywel Rowlands
Details: A favorite of mine, especially on those hotter days, Bundaleer has a rich climbing history following its discovery in 1964. It hosts a series of amazing lines established by the likes of John Ewbank, Henry Barber and Mike Law, to name only a few. To quote Glen Tempest, its the 'gritstone crag of the Grampians', and its a gem.
It's best for those who can climb 20+ but there are also some classic climbs that fall in the grade 12-18 bracket. The trip is suitable for intermediate and advanced climbers only. The crag has morning sun and comes into shade for the afternoon making the crag a great choice in summer. [ More ]
|05/12/2017-6:00p||:00pm - Knot Night at Wilson Ave Boulder|
Location: Wilson Avenue Bouldering Wall, Wilson Avenue, Brunswick (just off Sydney Rd)
Leader: Ben Wright
Knots, bights, bends and hitches. So you have one or two knots to your repertoire? Want to know a few more? Or just dust off the cobwebs in your memory.
Watch demonstrations and practice building anchors, using prusiks and tying loops of all sorts.
The Wilson Ave Boulder was recently reset by the VCC with all new problems. Turn up earlier should you wish to have an informal climbing workout. [ More ]
