Summerday Valley VCC Club Trip #3 Trial Reopening
Location: Summerday Valley, Mt Stapylton, Northern Grampians, VIC
Leader: Michael O'Reilly
Details: Following the success of our two trips last year, we are running a third VCC Trip to the closed Summerday Valley in the Mt Stapylton area. The VCC has been invited by Parks Victoria to participate in a restricted trial reopening of climbing in Summerday Valley.
This is a great opportunity to climb at this closed crag which is unlikely to be opened to the general pubic for quite a while.

Participants will be able to climb on two of the most popular cliffs: Back Wall & Wall of Fools.
This is an Intermediate Trip with a limited number of Beginner places.
As this is still a trial reopening, the total number of participants is limited to a total of 24 climbers.
Camping: The group will be camping at Plantation Campground on the Halls Gap-Mt Zero Rd. At present there are no camping fees applicable and there is no need to pre-book your campsite.

Trip Leaders: Michael OReilly and Ross Timms
Contact Michael for more details or to register your interest.
Prior booking is absolutely essential. It is not possible to turn up on the day. [ More ]

EASTER: Point Perpendicular and Nowra Trip
Location: Nowra, NSW
Leader: Hywel Rowlands
Details: Point Perpendicular beckons a return with its chiselled white cliffs framed by its wild ocean below. Its a bona fide high sea drama settled amongst a military bomb testing reserve.
The trip will also present the opportunity to visit the sport cliffs at Nowra, particularly if Point Perpendicular is closed due to military activities.

The trip will look to hire a house which is comparable in cost to nearby camping, will do away with the need for camping equipment, ensure comfort in the case of wet weather conditions, and will provide an opportunity to have 3-4 persons per car sharing travel costs.
Accommodation at the house will be limited (8-10 persons), cost will be divided by occupants for the trip period (although the potential exists for time share) and places allocated on a first come first served basis on receipt of a deposit.

Suitable for experienced intermediates and advanced climbers.
Contact Hywel, the trip leader, to secure your place and accommodation. [ More ]
