Me save iu bus man Rod! I'll be doing some serious crag hunting next time I get over to the Solomons (not till next year, the wife's expecting, but bye metufella takem niu pikinini an go kasem olketa wantok lo dere - though as they are my in-laws I should refer to them as Rorotos - Roviana dialect) My climbing buddy is my cuzi bro who is half Solomon, so he's keen to get out there too.

How is this related to chalk? There's heaps of limestone sea cliffs - I'll keep an eye out for some cool deep water soloing. I just wonder if betel nut lime would work as well as climbers chalk? At least you'd only have to walk to the nearest market to recharge your chalk bag.

Also, there should be plenty of volcanics around - the mountain behind Honiara (on Guadalcanal) is higher than Kosciuszko.
