Try catching up with the people at the Western Vic Climbing Club. Should be able to find a few like-minded people there. They have a little bouldering cave at their Ballarat wall too. Check their website for details : http://www.wvcc.com.a

All those little crags around western vic are good for a days bouldering.

Just go to the Grampians if u have a car.

Very little documented around Ballarat - but the granite areas lend thenselves to some reasonable bouldering.

One super mini guide for Beckworth

Otherwise the Grampians aren't too far away.

Who's that bugger wearing the beanie that's getting laughed at by Harry Potter?

The bloke who took this picture reckons it is a more normal style for him...

Beckworth is a worthy destination, I wrote that mini guide which obviously is mind blowing. If you are a bold boulderer capable of crushing v5 slab problems then about 50% of the established routes there make for interesting highballs, with many of them simply soloed on FA by local hard men back in the day. Elephant rock and the stranger stone have routes I have done as boulder problems and would (kind of) recommend. If you can be assed finding out who owns the land and trying to convince them that you’re not just a weirdo or some guy looking to case their agricultural sheds, have a look at the back side (towards Lexton) of mount Ercildoune, always wanted to hit that up, a large granite slab has slipped down the hill there at some point (just round from the sand quarry) leaving a talus field full of virgin granite boulders, just waiting to be climbed/fall apart in your hands (rock quality may be an issue but if it’s like its neighbouring stone on beckworth/Bolton then at least some of it should be bomber).
