Off-topic: Climbers who believe in Jesus

In a similar vein to the long-running motorcycle thread but perhaps more pertinent, I'd like to start a discussion about climbers who follow Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

I find that when I'm run-out high above small gear that my thoughts inevitably turn to the One True Lord (OTL). Just picturing his kindly face - that aquiline nose and flaxen hair - and flowing robes often allows me to pull moves that I'd otherwise thought myself incapable. You could call it monoing and heel-hooking for Jesus.

Does anyone else draw their cllimbing strength from OTL - as well as caffeine and campusing off course. LOL.

Peace.

I'm a terrible, back slidden, reluctant, heathen believer from way back and i often find myself praising during the crux.

When it comes to staying alive on on the sharp end, I would much rather turn to the writings of a particular Chockstoner then anything from Jesus and the Bible.

Thus I would re-write the above quote as follows...

I find that when I'm run-out high above small gear that my thoughts inevitably turn to the One Day Hero (ODH). Just picturing his kindly face...

I "dear god!" and "jesus christ!" all the time whilst climbing. I also yell "b*tch" quite a bit too.

I think he likes it.

......and I shall not abandon my flock in their time of need. I will hear their prayers and I will come to them, I will comfort them with my words of peace and hope.........

"You got yourself into this mess, dipshit! Now you get yourself the f*** out of it! What's that? You don't like this situation which you find yourself in? Well, tough titties, princess! Maybe you oughta think about finding yourself another f***ing sport! I hear the badmington a**eclowns are running a recruiting drive, not too much risk of getting strung out in that f**king game! Stop polluting my beloved cliffs with your p***y f***ing whining, and stop ****** up an activity which is sposed to involve a bit of ********-****!

I believe in Jesus. I've seen too many lebs who think they are god to not believe there was a leb 2000 years ago with low self esteem who thought he was only the son of god.

As the OTL said at the Last Supper: “One of you will belay me”.

The Via Dolorosa was a gnarly route.

The crux was definitely the cross.

you stupid arrogant confused little monkeys

for it is written in red dwarf

Kryten: But of course you do! For is it not written in the electronic bible, "The Iron shall lie down with the lamp." It's common sense sir, if there weren't a better life to look forward to, why on earth would machines spend the whole of there lives serving human kind? - Now that would be really dumb!

Lister : Yeah it makes sense. Yeah. Silicon Heaven(!)

Kryten: Don't be sad, Mr David sir. I am going to a far, far better place.

Lister: Just out of interest, is Silicon Heaven the same place as human Heaven?

Kryten: Human Heaven? Goodness me! *laughs* Humans don't go to Heaven! No no, someone just made that up to prevent you from all going nuts!

Apparently he might not have been a carpenter but possibly a stone mason. the word for carpenter was translated incorrectly.
