I don't need a that's not the best way to do it but as it was the way I used to use a figure 8, rope through big hole then the rope loop through the belay krrab.any way big fall sport routes at smith rocks were in fashion. Mates new route compared to its nieghbors over bolted. His bad bolting levered a bolt against a rock ripple. Biner snaped on a very soft belay. Can't remember roiutes name but just to the right of choke on this

Bloody hell that's a long route name;) I was gonna guess something like 'Jean Luc's revenge' someplace north of Vic...

It looks a bit like "Pulling on Porcelain" at Thompsons Point (Nowra, NSW).

Not sure if that was called Vera's Roof back in the day but it's now Gas Krankinstation 24, Nowra.

And it's the best pose ever, way better than the posing my mate did 10 minutes before that

I was responding to breaking biners, I know people who have broken under fatige but the only biner I have seen broken was down to bad bolt placement

Also know it as Vera's roof (clearly showing ODH's and my age). One day we decided to have an inpromptu no hands rest comp on vera's roof. Can 't remember the final number but quite a few were found...

M9, I'm afraid this photo doesn't qualify as it doesn't actually show any climbing.

Nobody guessed it. Mexican Hat in Utah. Quite a silly route. The belayer sits nervously under the hat belaying the leader who slowly aids out and over, expecting all the time the whole block will topple over and come crashing down... There are probably a few better shots of it floating around the internet somewhere but this will have to do...

Lol, Stu that's awesome, be honest would you rather do that than the six metre high piles of choss you were climbing over the Christmas break? ;)

You have been hanging round with the wrong people!

Simey is in denial - I recall seeing a photo of him climbing wearing knee pads. Come out Simey its OK.

... and I have seen a photo of him wearing elbow pads on a climb topout! ~> It is quite unbelievable the fetishes that some people have?

Simey "climbing" wearing kneepads is very debatable! I think the photo you're thinking of is Simey aiding his way to glory on the free climb 'The Ogive' at Bundaleer! Dangle, pull, dangle some more .... just dangle! I think Wendy has been playing on this climb recently.
That was the start of the end of Simey's climbing "career".
You know, the usual route:
climbing > aiding > talking about climbing > talking about aiding > writing about climbing > writing about aiding > writing about anything > barrista > anyone want to work in a Nati Cafe?

Nah they weren't piles of choss, they were fun routes on good grampians rock. If you want choss, come to NSW!

I stand corrected, they were six metre climbs on good rock.

Oh no, then he'd have to come back and climb on good rock (we would make him leave his share of the drill behind though).

Well it turns out Climbaholic did go to alot of work!

How do ya get a bigger pic again?
[Enlarged it for you. Moderator].

He has made a friggen trophy to be passed around to the winner as the recipient posts another photo with another route, and of course another winner. It looks pretty good. Definitely made me smile when I opened it tonight!

I feel honoured to be the first holder of such an illustrious award.

Thankyou Climbaholic!
