Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on how the fire bans work in Victorian Parks at this time of year. I was thinking about heading to Mt Buangor this weekend, but can't seem to find clear information anywhere on whether or not we can have a fire.
Does anyone have a link that provides clarity?

It depends on the park or the campground. Though if there aren't specific rules in place then fires can be made in the bush as per normal regulations of contained and observed and not on no fire ban days.

In the Grampians all fires outside of official campground metal fire pits are banned. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same at most of the major national parks in Victoria

Oh really? Does that go for the whole of summer (save for total fire ban days)?
In South Oz where I'm from the rule used to be no fires in parks from the 1st of November to the end of March or something. Is there nothing like that in Victoria?

In some cases, at all times. eg. Wilsons Prom: http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0009/316971/WPNP-Visitor-Guide.pdf
Fires (including camp fires and solid fuel ‘heat beads’) are not permitted at any time. Use a gas or fuel stove for cooking.
