I'm back! Holy cow, 2987 new posts since I last logged on! Don't think I'll have time to read them all. Did I miss anything important?

A huge thanks to Neil for covering for me. Hope there wasn't too many problems.

Europe was amazing even if we didn't do any climbing. (Would have been hard to sneak the gear in given it was our honeymoon). The highlight for me was definitely Switzerland with the best days being an ascent via cable cars on the Matterhorn and Mt Stanzerhorn.

I stood a little ways off the base of the Matterhorn's "horn", having ascended via cable cars to 3380m and heard tell of a mountaineers hut below the last upper section. It looked like a half day hike from the cable car station. From the hut one could await perfect weather and hit the summit and return possibly the same day, though certainly it looked steep enough to require technical ice climbing. Anyway, given the closeness of civilisation it looked like a nice approach and climb.

The hut you can see in the pic above isn't the one mentioned, there's apparently another higher up at the base of the horn itself, though I didn't spot it myself.
