I've had demonstrated to me two biners clipped together and if you twist them a certain way, they just pop apart (hard to describe without showing in person). It looks like a magic trick and is pretty frightening but i came away wondering how the biners would twist like that. Nevertheless, I spose I concluded I'd avoid the situation anyway.

I thought that maybe the no metal on metal thing was because the fall forces would be like some sort of "shock-loading" that could make the biner fail??? I have no idea if that is even possible, but logically, metal on metal has a lot less give in it that metal on sling?
