Reviews of DSLRs aren't going to be that useful IMO, because when it comes down to it there isn't going to be a great deal of climbing relative difference above that which you can easily work out from the webpages.

But there's loads of different P&S cameras out there and they can differ wildly. Basically features as per what neil and the others said, plus -

-wide aperture to decrease depth of field (often only f8 in P&S)
-manual controls.
-ease of use of controls (this is more important than it seems - if you can't make it do what you want quickly while hanging upside down you'll miss your mate's priceless expression as he falls off the crux...)
- histogram (live?)
- exposure compensation/flash exposure compensation

and to repeat from above:
- Instant Shutter Response!
