yes, ironic that i started this post and have a crab profile, no reflection of any issues downunder though....

i have tried almost all of these on now - an extensive 2 hour trip down little bourke street.

I think the snowgum one is surprisingly the best mix of simple styling, stretchy material, good workmanship, fit and comfort for the "slimmer" man. Though at $179 it is at the pricier end of the scale.

The fit on these things varies widely - it is hard to find one which had arms just right, and not for a fat man.

That said, I randomly purchased an Expex Synmat UL 7M sleeping mat, rather than a new jacked - 7mm of super compyness for only 400 grams and $170. Perhaps not as puncture proof as the old therma rest, but more comfortable by far.
