Fair enough, i haven't found these sharp edges yet that will chop a 9.4-9.7mm but not an 11mm. Sure an 11mm feels safer, but is that just in your mind? Can you even get 11s anymore?! A lot of people are starting to free climb on singles(on walls), with a 5mm tag to pull up main line plus haulgear, seems to work well! But i just dont like doubles... I wouldnt go fatter than 10mm, but thats just me. A mammut one did 3000m of jugging, leading etc and isnt even furry. But like i said, theres no right or wrong. Just different shades of grey. :)
