I've come in late. I've got heaps of Kathmandu gear, mostly because I worked there. They made some mistakes along the line but some bits and pieces have survived okay. The shell on my down must be 5 or 6 years old and has held up well. I think the newer ones use a different fabric though. I've actually been pretty happy with it, particularly for the sitting around at night part of climbing trips and as a belay jacket. The zip is starting to struggle now though, which affects its usefulness pretty badly. I'm a big fan of down jackets in general but will probably shop around more next time. I want a down hood pretty badly.
