Hi Cath,
Just saw your post, and the reply too. Most of the suggestions on the reply are for shoulder problems. While they're probably great suggestions for shoulders, personally, I'd be looking for someone with a special interest in hips, especially if the problem is in any way long-standing.
The two that practitioners that I tend to suggest to patients where additional physio (or osteo) input on hips is required are:
Natasha Hogan at City Baths Spinal and Sports Medicine Clinic (Physio)
Daniel Stasiuk at Mosaic Health in St Kilda (Osteo)
Both have a keen interest in hip pain/injury, including femoro-acetabular impingement, a condition which is increasingly being linked with long-standing hip pain, and are up to date with the latest research in this area.
The other person, who was recommended to me by a few minutes ago, is Leanne Rath at PhysioSports in Brighton. I've never met Leanne however I'm reliably informed by that she has a special interest in hip pain and is regarded as being very knowledgeable.
Details for all should be easy to find on Google, if you'd like numbers and addresses, email me on elaine@mosaicmyotherapy.com.au and I'll send them on.
Good luck with that. Hips problems can have a huge impact on us and are really important to get sorted. Hope those suggestions are useful.
Cheers!
Elaine.

Hi Guys, thanks for your help! I'm off to get an MRI and then I will follow up once I have the results.
Thanks again,
