I'm wondering what these reason are? Would it be ok for me to share the article with the climbing club Nik was a member of?

Are the reasons legal:
Bolters, gear manufacturers, etc getting their nose out of joint by your findings?
Or reproducing an article already published in a journal that people pay to subscribe to?

Or more to do with the perception of climbing:
It is assumed that journals are read by engineers who know how to interpret what they're reading. If media, NPWS, etc, got hold of the article, it could cause unjustified access issues.

Once again, I appreciate you sharing the article with a few chocky members.
