Horsham is a town with an ambulance service. The guy had a cardiac arrest, not a fall.

I dont think anyone said Cardiac compression is not worth it. It is always worth it on a person with a witnessed cardiac arrest (even at a crag).

A lot different scenario to a traumatic injury at a crag leading to death. CPR wont help.

Clearing and maintaining an airway, protecting C spine, immobilising long bone fractures, binding a pelvis and controlling external haemorrhage are the only feasible field responses that might save someones life
(unless you carry an airway needle and can drain a tension pneumothorax).
Someone comes into the ER having CPR after sustaining blunt trauma- they are dead.
