"Magnesium carbonate iself is not toxic. However, its excessive use (??) may cause central nervous system depression and cardiac disturbances. It is slightly hazardous in case of skin and eye contact and may cause respiratory and digestive tract irritation in case of ingestion or inhalation."
If not pure however may contain traces of crystalline silcates which can cause silicosis of the lungs with long term exposure. Lead time to disease 10 years. Likelihood, low-ish I would think.
