Use a rubber band to create resistance on the thumb and do reps in all directions.
I have been progressively stretching the wrist to slowly increase the range of movement.
Stay away from any pushups, I tried that too early and just strained the poor guy.
If you are going to get back to climbing, try the fingery balancy slab stuff first, I can do that just fine but am useless on anything steep. Ado
