As someone who was actively involved in the situation, being first on the scene, administering first aid, raising the alarm, remaining in communication with authorities and more passively watching when help arrived, it has been enlightening to see the level of misinformation in the media and other sources.

Having said this, I am only interested in entering this forum to thank the team of professionals and volunteers willing to assist a person in distress. To the Police Search & Rescue, Halls Gap Police, Ambulance Victoria, Parks Victoria, SES and ARG I cannot thank you enough. It was a huge operation and effort by all involved. The fact that a critically injured individual was rescued from a remote location without the loss of life is a credit to you all. A life passionate about climbing, mountains and the crag will go on. Many thanks :)
