Several years ago I was taken to The Alfred with skull, arm and rib fractures. After about 12 days I was deemed fit enough to be road-ambulanced back home to Adelaide. My arm bones needed to be put back in position in theatre, but that was done in Adelaide.The Victorians did want to get rid of me, but that was understandable. I have no complaints about the care, it was great.

I would think transfer by air would be expensive and logistically difficult. But it's a long road trip to Brisbane and there could be extra thrombotic issues with Allison, her being immobile. vwills would know more about this than me.

I don't know Allison, but I'm sure the thoughts of all of us ex-wounded warriors are with her. One of the difficult things to deal with is the distress one's downfall can cause friends and family. You just gotta hang in there and, if you choose to keep climbing, aim to be better and stronger than ever in years to come.
