--so whats "unsafe" mean
no mats climber hurt-unsafe
mats down, gap in mats, climber hurt-unsafe
more mats, climber rolls aknkle (mats to firm/soft), climber hurt-unsafe
tendon unfriendly holds, climber hurt-unsafe
climbing gym requires all patrons to be wrapped in pillows in order to climb 1m of the deck above feather filled pit, on a triple top rope, anchors (and wall) strong enough to hold 747-safe?----

I don't think anyone here expects gyms to be 100% safe. Impossible. Obvious.
Safety at gyms is important, if not then we risk the chance of higher costs or possible closure!
Gym staff should be on hand to stop unsafe practices. Better practices indoor translate to better practices outdoors.........
A quick word on safety, and as an experinced climber yourself you should know this. There are also degrees of safety. It not just black and white.
