Yeah i agree, sounds like a ganglion. Essentially they are a weakness in the tendon sheath, i don't know what its technical name is, but you can imagine it being like an inner tube of a bike tyre. The tendon runs through this tube, surrounded by fluid. Like an inner tube, where there is a weakness the fluid, or air in the case of the tyre, pushes out. i am sure you are all aware of these happening on your inner tubes. So the ganglion is just fluid that is raising up the weakness in the sheath. Does this make sense? its rather late.
That said, i did have surgery back in '01, to remove what was first thought to be a ganglion, but ended up being a benign tumour.
My advice, hit it with a book, if that doesn't work, speak to Saunders.
