I had a little trouble with my elbow last year and found that working the antagonist muscle groups is very effective

Similar to you Chris I have been doing 3 sets of 20:
Push ups
Reverse wrist curls, 5kg
Forearm rotators, 5kg
shoulder Presses, 10kg
(As per Eric Horst's "Training for Climbing")

I generally do this twice a week and have remained injury free for quite a while now despite regular intense training. It doesn't take very long to do and there is no need to push yourself very hard. The idea is to just keep it light so as to maintain a little balance, not to bulk up.

Do not underestimate the importance of training these muscle groups, especially if you regularly train at high intensity. Failure to do so can relate to some rather chronic injuries and extended time off the rock.
