Hey Paul,

Best bet for bouldering and roped climbing is Mt Alexander, about 30 mins south. It's all granite, some excellent quality. The best bouldering area for a visit with limited time is probably the Devils Playground. It has a selection of easy to hard problems on great rock, all in a compact area with easy access and plenty of scope for exploration. Call Steve Morris at Rock Hardware for directions and general info, there is (or was) a guide online somewhere but I don't recall exactly where. There has been development elsewhere on the mountain, like Scorpion Rocks. Dalai is probably the person to help with that, unless the development is a work in progress, if you know what I mean.

I've spent many happy hours at the Devils Playground, but there are boulders everywhere if you have time to look around.

Good time of year to go, it should be dry and cold!
