I am vising Melbourne from March 1-12 and have some free time in the middle of the week (7-9 I think) and would love to get out and climb.
I will have a car and I'm happy to drive, but would like to leave the rack and rope at home (and happy to return the favor if you are even in New York). I would prefer to climb some easy/moderate multi-pitch trad, but really would just like to get out for a day or two. I would be happy to drive up, camp one night, climb and head back.
Lead 5.8 (15/16?) on gear, 5.10 (19/20?) on bolts.
Short list so far:
-Grampians
-Arapiles

Thanks Douglas - I tried to join Melbourne Rock Climbing last week - but no response from the Mods, so I can't post there yet, haha. Thanks for the tip on VCC, posted up there.

Random posts aren't likely to be successful, especially mid week.
Better to just drive out there yourself and find a climbing partner at Mt Arapiles campsite. Pretty easy to do. The campsite is full of climbers. (The same can't be said for the Grampians.)
