If the lack of real estate is stopping you from building a home wall then you are in luck. My friend has just acquired a space at the Darebin Enterprise Center and we don't know what we are going to fill it up with; thus, a community climbing wall would certainly be a good option. The ceiling is somewhere around 10 meters high and there's plenty of space to build for the motivated. I'm not much of a plastic monkey so I'll be installing a crack machine. Any takers?

I would be right on down with a crack machine. What needs to happen to make this dream a reality?

Lumber. Lots of it; my supply is currently low. We can go Little Indian Creek here. Plus, I have a tree house at the top of a pine tree (maybe 20+ meters) than could take a crack route approaching it up the steep side.
Additionally, we did acquire the climbing treadmill that was on ebay and posted here a few months ago. It needs a tune up and a roof right now, but anybody keen is welcome to come use it. We don't get this stuff to look at it.
We already have martial arts mats in this new space if you need a place for yoga, jiu jitsu, or whatever. We are keen on offering such opportunities to our friends and community. I'll be teaching kids grappling and am always keen on training partners.

Cool. I would be keen to help if the ball gets rolling. I have some lumber and tools and such to chip in. Are you channeling tom randall?

Ah Singer,
If only I hadn't moved to Hobart!
Jujitsu and climbing in one place. Sounds like Valhalla.
I guess I do get to climb real cracks here at least.
Hope all's well.
cheers

I don't know Tom Randall but I was a close friend of and learned how to rig from DanO which does burden me with a duty to dream up ever crazier stuff for people to do. It's not easy, that guy built an ice climbing tower in his back yard with a garden hose spraying out of the top.
I forgot that I actually have a pile of sleepers sitting here that should be a suitable start. If you guys are keen then give me a jingle, come over for a visit and see if it looks like a good idea to you. singer= 0458186097

Yeah, no doubt Cam; I thought about you first.
Come back for visits ever?

hey Singer,
Yeah, still got family and work in Melbourne, so I'm over occasionally. If I'm on a visit without a crazy schedule I'll try and pop in.
