Well my first trip report since.

I climbed a bit down on mount keira in wollongong during high school (2002 -2003) when my Dad was into it. As things happen he stopped climbing and so did I.
I recently found the passion again to get outdoors and found a buddy who had been climbing in the gym a lot.

We had a trip to mt Keira with my dad a few weeks back to just get a feel and go over all my rope skills and things. since then all i wanted to do was get out again and teach my new partner some stuff.

When the weather looked like it was clearing i decided to head out for the afternoon.

We did 4 easy climbs for the day. Some of the rock here is rather dirty, covered in dead moss and stuff but it was still enjoyable. I spent most of the time going over the set ups we did for the day and explaining how and why i did things and getting Will to ask questions.

Ill link the guide here now to make it easier to explain what we climbed.

We started on the wall at the northern end of the block area (the one with no marked climbs). We found two possible routes up this and spent a bit of time warming up.

After that we set up a top rope on the block so we could climb the northern end of it. There are two climbs one marked S and the other T. Neither are marked on the guide.
We started on T. It was an easier climb heading straight up with a difficult move at the top.
Next we moved across onto S (approximately 1m to the right of D if you looking at the block). Its kind of in the chimney and somewhat confusing if it is the chimney climb of the actual face. We assumed it was the face as it seemed climbable but out of my range at the moment. I would love to head back there soon and climb in without bridging in the chimney.

In all it was a nice afternoon out and good to get back out there and practicing. I will venture down here again soon since its only 3 mins from my house.
