Ok ok ok (it's noice to see that some read up on what is in people's profiles... personally I am a profile surfer, love to know what's behind an alias)

So we are the WOMbats and we are 'bout to embark on the advencha of a life time. (BTW: bats: little furry creatures that fly around at night shitting on cars. wombats: solid, ambling creatures without a care in the world)

This has been 2 years coming - alot of hard work and planning has gone into this one but Damieta... we haven't yet begun!

It is still 3 weeks away but thanks to Damieta's 'subtle encouragement' we'll begin our story now. Our names are Nina-Jay and Carwyn and it's Nina-Jay writing here (and has been most of the time on this forum.. try to guess which posts are Carwyn's). We are passionate rock bumblies (combined climbing experience approx 8 years), living in Darwin 2 years. We are spending 4-6 months travelling around Australia in a yellow campervan with 'lil WOMBAT painted on the side. We hit the road November 22.

We'll climb down the West Coast for 1.5 months concentrating mainly on MR and areas around Albany.
Next stop SA & Moonarie! looking at being there for 3 weeks but maybe more because I love my wine almost as much as I love my climbing. (Carwyn is a beer man all the way!) Unfortunately drinking wine and climbing don't mix very well.
We hope to be in Vic for the start of Autumn and will concentrate on the Gramps and Arapiles (this is where we wouldn't mind hooking up with you chockstonians and getting that valuable local knowledge!) Then off to Nowra and Blue Mountains for some solid sport climbing and then some bouldering in Armidale (Carwyn once spent a weekend there bouldering by himself and was hooked). We'll eventually go home to QLD to work on an even longer term plan which y'all may hear about in the not too distant future...

This is an experience not a holiday,
A challenge is sought - a terrtiory not yet travelled
(oops, wrong thread.. that belongs in the 'Expedition/Adventure of a lifetime' thread)
I couldn't resist throwing that one in!

We'll attempt to dial-up as frequently as possible and if there is a continued interest... we'll update our story as often as we can!

'till then, it's 3 looooonnnnnnnggggggg weeks left at work!

see ya on tha crag-side
