we've been through Chamonix (done a little sport climbing there and taken the amazing cable car up the Aguille Du Midi).
We've been very briefly to Ceuse and climbed there half a day (brilliant - huge amazing cliff) until the weather crapped out on us and we went further south.
The verdon was next and the range of cliffs and routes is seriously cool. The weather was also very stable and climbing possible every day we were there. Good camping at Camping Municipale (La Plaud) fairly close by to the cliffs.
Now we are in Cassis and climbing in La Calanque, but the weather is so windy we've not been able to get much done the last few days. Mark & Steve - been thinking of you today when we say a bunch of kite surfers going nuts on the coast near Marseille.
Andrew - if you get a chance could you let me know if you're keen to climb with us in La Calanques in the next week or so (we leave on the 25th) and have a car. +61417307456
