Yurumbulla is pretty well off limits. I've been told that the whole area is some sort of 'Aboriginal Heritage Area', and hence there are big fines (like $10000) for defacing/damaging it. There are signs about this near the caves with the paintings, but I think that they apply for the whole area.

Access at places in the Flinders such as Moonarie has never been a problem, but if we start messing around at very visible tourist spots like this then it can only cause trouble.

If you must climb there then keep well away from the caves with the paintings (there's not much to climb in them anyway), and keep a low profile.

There is some pretty cool bouldering at Moonarie - but its fairly limited in scope.
