Hi all,
My second crag beta question for the day is, has anyone done much climbing in Hong Kong? I'm heading there in December/January for 2 weeks with my girlfriend and I'm hoping to get out climbing for a couple of days. I'm only bringing gear to sport climb and do a bit of bouldering and I've already got the Hong Kong bouldering guidebook and checked out the hongkongclimbing.com website which is a great resource but I was wondering if anyone had some personal experience there and could recommend any areas in particular?
I can lead low 20's and my girlfriend can lead high teens but is more comfortable toproping so a crag that is good for toproping is a plus.
Thanks,
Scott

Twas several years ago, but I recall Lion Rock being hot and hard to avoid the sun. Tung Lung was O.K., but keep an eye out for the occasional big wave.
Lama Island would have plenty of bouldering options, as it's covered in granite boulders, if that's your sort of thing. I have a vague recollection of some boulders on the beach, but I was just there for a walk, so I didn't try to climb anything.
In general, I would say that Hong Kong is not a destination for rock climbing, but if you find yourself there, and you want to go climbing, then there are some opportunities.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've got a couple of weeks there visiting my girlfriends family so if I can get out for a climb for a day or two in that time I'll be pretty happy. Thanks E Wells I've saved those details in my phone so I might flick him an email and see if I can link up with them while I'm over there.
Cheers,
Scott

Hi all
I was looking for a climbing partner in HK on short notice over the next week. The contact email address bounces back. Anyone have any other emails for potential partners in HK from Sun - Tues next week??
Cheers
