Personally i thought Kalymnos was like a european version of Tonsai. The climbing is pretty good, the food is really good, living in apartments is fantastic and not needing a car is great. Downsides are the crowding (really bad in October) overstarring of routes ( .. it is hard to tell in the new guidewhat are the classics as everything is given 5 stars?!) the scooters (loud & dangerous) the people ( you get the feeling that everyone is simply trying to make $$$$ off you)

To me it's biggest selling point is it's convenience. Imho Spain (Rodellar, Margalef & Monsant) definently had better climbing, but Kalymnos was certainly worth a visit.
