Trad Gear and Bouldering Wall Clearout

Right, I'm formalising my exit from the sport by selling off all my gear and bouldering wall. I'm keeping enough gear that I can still climb if I want to.

There's a lot of stuff here and I've got no idea how much it's worth. So, I'll list the items below in lots. Place a bid against a lot and the highest bidder, by midday on Monday the 31st of January gets it. Postage will be what ever Australia Post charges, with the caveat that I'm notoriously slow to get to the post office.

There's an album of better photos here:

Happy to sell the cams separately.

Black Diamond 0.75,1,2,3 and 5 I've got a 4 but it's in a car in Tassie. Should be back at some stage. The bottom 3 are virtually brand new and the top 2 have some dings and scratches typical of trad climbing.

Rock Empire - these are the old Robots and I've actually quite liked them. They don't have a great range of expansion, and are a touch heavy, but they've always been solid when placed properly. Good cheap learner leader cams. Sizes are hard to read so you'll have to learn the colour sequence. Roughly BD 3 down to .25s. There's a couple of small ones of the same size. 8 in set.

Wild Country slung hexes - set of 7 Best hexes available IMHO.

Rack of Rock Empire brass wires. Hardly used, not very good, but they're really cheap. Good light gear to leave on alpine routes

A dozen nuts, mostly ABC Huevo's. Curved aluminium. Some odd found nuts as well

Wild Country Helium quick draws. Very light and hardly used. set of 5. Wire gates at either end

Old trad draws, 11 of them, 5 very extendable. Might split the extendables if someone wants them

Shoes - Scarpa Vision, velcroes, my bouldering shoe. Recently re-soled and better then the original! They're pretty tight on me so must be about a 43 or US 11

Scarpa women's, can't remember the model. Still original rubber and hardly used. Very tight on Bec, so must be about a women's US 6.

Women's Black Diamond harness small? Do harnesses have sizes? It's small. Free chalkbag and locker

Petrzl helmet. Small and very light

Bouldering - Whippet, Blue Mountains original. Very thick and sturdy, but smaller than other pads. Seen a lot of use with hardly a scratch, apart from one torn velcro binding. Back-Packs well

Tools of the Adventure big chalk bucket. With chalk. Have a massive bag of white powder mailed to your house.

Lastly, my bouldering wall.

2.4m wide, 2.3 high and 3m along the steep face. $300 worth of Metolius holds and a bunch of randoms I picked up off the internet. Floor to ceiling jam crack in the steep panel and a couple of other jams and finger-locks on the vert wall. I've got a 24 move problem taped on it at the moment.

Will dismantle into 6 panels, the longest of which will be 3m. I'll help you load it and offer advice on installation.

Does the little stick holding the steep wall up come with it as well?

evanb have you become a scientologist? You are changing your persona and claiming a stick is not structural?

Sucks you feel the need to 'leave' the sport, but I guess sometimes you just have to move on to other things.

I'm happy to bid for the Rock Empire cams. $100 for the four largest ones

Not so much a need as a result. It's been an amicable break up. I've ticked my mountain, and now other things are more interesting.

Exactly, that's the kind of feeling I had with surfing, although I still get out sometimes and reckon it's actually more fun with no pressure than when i was obsessed.

You can't have it. It's an olive tree I pulled out of the ground in the backyard. Excellent timber.
