The standard would just need flexibility in that not all fields would need to be entered. Sites could swap information using APIs in XML REST or JSON formats - data integrity wouldn't necessarily be crucial - sites owners could choose which data to trust as would end users. The main point is to be able to swap access and use any route information that we believe is openly owned by climbing community.

What about crags without internet access - unless the crag is using browser based offline storage although I doubt the crag is using this as it is a new html feature.
