It took me years to find someone who wanted to do Passport. I finally did it last year (aiding the 6m roof section) and it was awesome. It would be great to watch someone lead it. The first pitch is very good as well and the location is hard to top.

I get inspired by photos and videos of people climbing hard routes in places I've never been. I've never been particularly interested in indoor climbing comps and I can understand why hard climbers would prefer to focus on their projects than prepare for competitions on plastic.

Obviously a lot of people get inspired by the climbing press, hence the list of overseas routes that keep popping up on people's dream lists. But the Cobra Crack narrative would have been just as inspiring if it had tracked HB climbing the great shark hunt or steve monks on ozymandias direct. I'm sure sender films could make Sandinista wall look every bit as inspiring as the Cobra Crack area. Having said this I'm kind of happy they don't, I'd prefer to read about it in Rock or better still walk past as it is happening.
