using a quick draw in which the rope end crab can't easily be reverersed means the crab wont jiggle around as the rope runs through it and therefore possibly cross load. I would prefer the small possibillity of self unclipping to having a caribiner which could jiggle on the rope. If I feel sketchy i just chuck on a 2nd quicky opposed or a screw gate, such as when i only have one piece to the ground or on a traverse where the carabiner can twist as the rope runs through it horizontally. |
