You got that right. It will never be same climb again. It was climbed in 1981 in a pair of EBs or Fires or some other clunky boot. If you want the same experience then you would have to do it the same way and have done it before the masses got too it with chalk and the passage of time. This is the case with most of the classic routes. They change over time and often loved into greater difficulty as the climb wears down. |
