* I am eager to start climbing, does anyone have any advice for new climbers?

I intend on going to do an introductory course over my holidays.
Is this a path in the right direction?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Just join one of the rockclimbing clubs, they have experienced climbers and all the equipment.

One of the university clubs or the VCC (Victorian Climbing Club) are the most popular

Courses are a waste of money if your just starting out

vonclimb's right, don't bother with any courses yet.. Join the VCC.. That said, try searching the site *as a start* this question has been asked many many times so you will find what you need
