Winston, please chance your nom de plume to ZACHARY SMITH, that whinging moaning work avoiding nogoodnick from Lost in Space.
So what if people prefer to sleep in tents (often very flash and pricey, on a comfy self inflating mat wrapped in a silk liner inside a down bag) and breathe fresh air as opposed to something recirculated through a/c and mixed with Legionairres disease??
Who cares if we resole the shoe that fits, and keep Dr Phil in a job?
And who cares if someone on an extended climbing tour recycles perfectly good food from the dumpsters of the local megamarts?

And perhaps you need to re/visit the recent discussion on buying gear online because other people want to support the purchase of their luxury yacht and McMansion on the Riviera with outrageously overpriced climbing gear?

And as far as saying we need a motzah of moolah to climb, I know people who spend more in a day of motor racing than most of us would spend in a lifetime on gear.
