I've recieved some documentation from the Insurers this morning.

I havent had a chance to read through it all properly so i wont go into great detail about coverage afforded.

For your interest:

Rock climbing anywhere in the world (including USA / Canada / Carribbean) for a trip upto 31 days would cost GBP$128
Additional week units of cover can be obtained for GBP$20 per week

Mountaineering requires the completion of a rather detailed proposal form and takes into account destination, route, altitude, climbing experience and more (the insurer neglected to send me this prop form but will do so shortly)

For Rock climbing in Europe a trip of upto 31 days will cost GBP$60 and additional week units of cover can be purchased for GBP$10

The limits for baggage and "Activity Equipment" are modest, upto GBP$1000 with a limit of $300 per item or set of items.

Damage caused by atmospheric conditions (eg storms et etc) is excluded, as is damage to video & camera equipment unless caused by fire or theft or in connection to a motor accident.

Destinations:
Coverage is excluded to any country where the British Foreign Offic has advised against travel. Presently this would exclude cover for countries such as Pakistan (tribal areas) Philippines, Afgahnistan, Indonesia, colombia and russia and more...

once ive read through the wordings some more i'll let you all know if anything nasty lurks in there

whats your thoughts on the premiums though, would you be willing to pay this amount for the cover or would you go uninsured?
