For the right price anything is legal. I'm reasonably good friends with financial director of the European businesses. I gave him a call and (obviously) he had no f'ing clue about the arapiles thing (and don't worry I didn't mention taipan). However they are interested in expanding their australian portfolio - especially if there is the opportunity of a horse stud/ranch nearby. Apparently it takes them so long to get horses through quarantine for the carnival in australia that they are very keen for a permanent horse stud in Oz. To top it off the recent drought made them think there might be some bargains out there. So watch out!
