ok when tieing in to the middle of the rope, assuming only 1 is to be climbing on second at any one time, is it really nessesary to use a alpine butterfly?? surely a fig 8 would do as appart form the weight of the trailing rope its essentially weighted the same as if it were tied in the end of a rope??? joe
