Generally speaking, lower grade climbs - the ones used by beginners and novices - often have ledges and blocks protruding from the cliff face. this creates the potential for a "ground fall" even when well up the route.
If there is a strategically placed bolt to prevent injury, you are welcome to exercise your skill and judgement by not clipping into it.
And I never made any call for grid bolting and placing rap/top rope anchors everywhere. |
