There are half a doz or so fixed pegs on C Rib. I think 3 are on the crux pitch. Last time I went up (Good Friday 2009) I took a krab of wires, eg rocks 2-10, 8 quickdraws & 5 over the shoulder length slings. Didn't bother with RPs or cams. I thought the protection was OK. We did it in < 2h as there was a storm coming. If it does rain (as it did that day) the rock gets VERY slippery and is an issue for the descent!! Thankfully smeone has dealt with the blackberries in Green Glacier.
V Rib: agree with M9 a far more sustained and interesting route. But I don't think I would take anyone inexperienced up it. That's just my view though.... |
