I Second Neil's thoughts on South Africa.
We were there for a month and climbed maybe 3 or 4 times. Only once was anyone else climbing near by, the rest of the time my wife was worried about someone or thing (baboons are surprisingly scary) coming past and killing her. Walking 1 K through the bush to climb at a remote cliff seems a somewhat more risky than here - especially if a township etc was within walking distance.
Such a shame, because the country and cliffs are awesome as are "most" of the people.
The central locking button on the drivers door got a fair work out... |
