I am the opposite. I prefer the narrow bright beam for the bars and the the helmet beam to be a big fat beam. Just a personal preference. I find the narrow bright beam on the helmet glares too much but produces nice shadows on the ground to spot the surface irregularities and penetrates into the darkness when your going flatout. The wide beam on my helmet helps with my peripheral vision. If you get both you can play around with them anyway.
