So, after a wear-me-out chrissy/new year drinking/climbing/drinking period, i borrowed 5 weekly chick flick DVDs for recovery purposes, including The Jane Austen Book Club. What I learnt from this movie? apparently, there is a great risk that if you climb on toprope at an indoor gym in the States, the rope will go up, no slack to be seen, but you will mysteriously not have a belayer. The end result? as you try to assist a young fella on the route next to you, you will fall to the ground from a great height and the rope will zip through (unmanned) belay-device with great speed! Alarming! However, you will only break your wrist, then fall in love and live happily ever after. Phew.
