Hey guys,

Would like to get some feedback as to whether there is much of a vertical face on this Peak? I am thinking about doing an expedition there to BASE jump from it but can't find any information or descent pictures showing whether it will be worth my trouble.

Cheers for any help.

Federation Pk is generally less than vertical. Consider E face or Secheron Pk. It's vertical, about 300m high, you can get a boat across Fake Pedder, it will be accessible as a day trip. Not as famous as Feder though.

orwell - Cheers for your email. There was at least picture in those links that made me realize BASE jumping is probably not possible from here.

Jamesmc - Thanks for that, will look into it. The reason I was looking at Feder is that, if it was possible, it would definately be the most interesting wingsuit BASE jump in Australia. At the moment we don't have anything larger than 950ft which doesn't make for a long or interesting flight.

What is the glide ratio of a wingsuit?

Watsons Crags to Murray River is 1850m descent innit? But I guess you need a
substantial cliff to start with.

Ah yep, unfortunatly......

2 is an average glide for a wingsuit but you need at least 200m min vertical to get it flying. Can be slightly positive but not recommended....

Climbing was banned in 1982 under amendments to the Lord Howe Island Act, and in 1986 all access to the island was banned by the Lord Howe Island Board. In 1990 the policy changed to allow some climbing under strict conditions, which in recent years has required an application to the relevant state Minister.

You might just make Nowra from Balls Pyramid in a wing suit.
