i think what he is saying is when he uses a quote in his thesis or a publication it will not be attributed to that particular user but there is a chance that a persn reading the thesis/report will know who you are because it is a website used by a limited community. The study has been approved by the universities human ethics committee so there would some pretty rigorous guidelines that he has to stick to. it is the norm for people being studied to have to give their consent for ethics to be approved but perhaps it is too difficult to do this on a web forum. if anyone has s serious issue ring the uni's ethics committee chair and tell them. if enough people kick up a stink he will have to can the study. i couldnt really care less though.
