toccata tale.
last trip to Arapiles (week before easter) went for a ramble on first evening around the organ pipes area. got tempted upwards and northwards. as the light faded attempted various reasonable looking descents. (I' in loose walking boots with guidebook tucked into waistband of trousers) (no torch, no water, no gear, no phone) after a couple of aborted decents end up descending toccata chimney, but it gets too wide above the ledge. I'm sweating and getting a little concerned. Drop guidebook onto ledge, tighten my laces and chimney back up without too much elvis. (Phew!) By this time I've almost lost the light. Scamble and bush bash my way back to central gulley, losing glasses on the way.

Had the very good luck to parter up with Craig & Sylvia Luebben,(even more yahoo!)(lovely people) and retrieved guidebook on last day. So no booty.
