Just wondering if anyone has been in to the Tortoise Wall / Gilhams / Deathmarch area to see what got burned by the PF 'fuel reduction' burn 'accident' a month or so ago. I hear that a plan to burn about 300 ha out west of Billywing went a bit wrong and 3000 ha was burned right up towards the back of the chimney pots.

I am planning to take up the issue with PV to find out ifthere is something wrong with the rules that allowed a fire ten times larger than planned (I'm now on the park advisory commitee and burning will be on the agenda at the next meting at the end of Jan).

i'd really appreciate any news on whether cliffs in the area have suffered.

From what i saw they burned to the tops of the mountains from Grahams Creek all the way south to at least Gilhams. I didn't drive further south to see what more was torched.
